Spring Madness

Well it is another week into the spring and the kids are all kinds of wacky. As we push into the final weeks the kids are picking up new skills and showing off their talents.
I had the opportunity to introduce the art club at one of my schools to Geli Plate Printmaking. I brought in some of my favorite stencils and homemade plates. The just cranked out prints with loads of extra ideas.
My 3rd graders finished their Aboriginal Dot Paintings. We also had several talks about Australia and how close it is to Guam, where I am about to head out to.
The Garden Club, which I am in charge of had their last meeting this week and we used up a lot of extra paper scraps to create multi layered flowers. This is after my dismal failure at origami flowers. Learn from mistakes and “Semper Gumby” always flexibile.
So my friend Jordan had her art night at her Elementary school and I was lucky enough to be able to attend. As you can tell the turn out was huge. I even had a Nother one of my prince sell at auction. Jordan is a great inspiration to me in my elementary educational endeavor.
So I decided to conclude my week by teaching third graders how to use rulers and compasses to create optical illusion art.
As Friday comes to a close and I get ready for my next drill weekend before my Guam mission. I am overseeing my other schools art club build sculptures out of there graphical geometric organic drawings. I am hoping that they will be able to finish these next week as I will be on the other side of the planet after next Friday.
