Guam Day 2

Woke up feeling ready to attack the world, in a positive way.  After a really great work out session I had time to shower and watch the sun rise.  It was still raining but as always this beautiful island just gently welcomed me to the new day.  The warm weather is cooled by the ocean...

Guam Day 1

Flight was awesome, love United Airlines.  No photos coming over, had trouble getting the phone to work for me.  I could really use some tech advice on that.  A friend of mine come over here and used his phone and went home to a $500 bill.

Well I got in around 11:00pm on St Patrick’s...

Leaving for Guam

All my bags are packed I’m ready to go. I’m standing here outside your door.  You know the rest of the song.  Ready for Guam.  I think this is my 20th trip there and this time I am determined to get some artwork done.  I even created itineraries for the tank farm and some...

Print day!

Alrighty then.  I have been having a bit of good luck lately.  Maybe I am just rolling with it better, but I am ready to push forward.  Cracking out the small press and trying out some old, and hopefully new solar plates.  This can be a little pricey, but much easier than actual acid etching....

Sculpture Install

Well it is finally ready.  The first in my urban edition installs.  I learned a lot from this, but it is up and only the beginning.

The aftermath, with a whole lot of clean up.

Things I learned:

Scout the area first, build for it. Build ready to install.  Too much time spent prepping area. Better construction on...

Guam Prep.

Well it is that time of year when I am off to Guam.  This year’s military trip is going to be different.  Taking cameras, plexus plates, gels plates, and Akua inks.  I am going to try and capture the island artistically.  Right now just prepping the plates.

So now I have a nice stack of...

Sculpture day

Well yesterday was a wonderful 80 degrees here in Texas, so I was back in the studio trying out new ideas and really getting to know the new tools.  I had some old screens from about 12 years ago, and rather than having them re-stretched I was going to recycle the wood into sculpture.  I...

Print Day Flub

Well, trying to get a little work in for my daughter’s volleyball team, a whole lot of fulbs occurred.  The pressure washer died and my pinter is almost out of black toner.  Going it “old school” style like back in my high school days.  Cleaning screens at the car wash.  Insert theme music from CAR...

Christmas Is Art Making Time

Well I have been at the family farm for two days now and the drive down from Dallas was great, save a glitch with the GPS system on the Tacoma that took Jazmin, Bella, Sally and myself off the highway and down through South Dallas.  We survived the confusion thanks to the Iphone’s mapping system.

I...

Last prints in edition

So the print sale was more successful than I thought.  I have 3 left from the “Electric Sunset” edition.  $5.00 a piece. 17X14
